Block NdFeB Permanent Magnets for Shackles 20170228
N42 Neodymium Block Magnets Installed in a device that is Worn on the Ankle
Look for N42 Neodymium Permanent Magnets Manufacturer:
We would like to know if you have standard magnets that correspond to the bellow specification:
Dimension (mm): block shape with tolerance ***
Material: NdFeB, Grade N42
Plating: Ni-Cu-Ni (Nickel)
Magnet direction: Thru Thickness
Pull force: Min. of 500g; no max. Force spec.
Estimated quantity: 10 000 per year.
We would like to know what the best corrosion plating you could provide on magnet is. What specification and thickness of electro-plating?
We would like to know if it could be possible to produce 300 to 600 magnets in two weeks period.
NdFeB Magnets Manufacturer China Rare Earth Magnet Limited:
Our production team replies that we can produce 300-600pcs within 2 weeks period.
Regarding what the best coating is, we'd like to know how working environment of the permanent magnet.
Choosing a kind of coating should be depended on working environment.
Do they need to work in humid or other harsh environment?
If not, then NiCuNi is suitable for the magnets. Thickness is only 9-20μm.
We can also provide many other kinds of coating, such as black epoxy, gold, silver, etc.
However, magnets with different coating will have different price.
Application and Working Environment:
The neodymium block magnets will be installed in a device that is worn on the ankle 24x7 (cannot be removed). The device is used to track people who would otherwise be in prison. Only a policeman can remove the device from the ankle. The magnets will be open to all environmental conditions indoors and outdoors. This can include extended exposure to sea water, sea spray, hot tub chemicals, etc.
I believe that nickel electro-plating should be sufficient if thick enough and complete coverage of the plating. What are your recommendations?
NdFeB Permanent Magnet Manufacturer China Rare Earth Magnet Limited:
NiCuNi coating will easily corrode if magnets expose to water or sea water for a long time.
NiCuNi is suitable for only normal environment.
We suggest you try NiCuNi + Black epoxy, but the price will be a bit higher.
