Warnings and Tips on Using Neodymium Magnets
1. The neodymium magnet is the strongest magnet. You should be careful when separate them by yourself. Two magnets that attract each other make fingers and elsewhere in the body very susceptible to injury. The neodymium magnet is brittle and easy to be peel, crack and shatter. Protection for eyes should be provided when dealing with these magnets, for shattering magnets may scatter at great speeds and be harmful.
2. The strong magnetic fields of neodymium magnets have negative effects on electronic products, such as television, VCR, computer monitor and other CRT displays, even pacemaker and other medical aids. Apart from above objects, magnetic products are also influenced the function, including floppy disks, credit card, magnetic I.D. cards, cassette tapes, video tapes or other such devices.
3. Never place magnets within the reach of children. Also, you should tell them not to put magnets, even the toys with magnets, into mouth.
4. Although small as magnet is, it may cause a choking hazard and should never be swallowed or inserted into any part of body.
5. Never burn neodymium magnets, for magnets emit toxic fumes when they are in burning.
6. when use magnets, you must keep working place clean and tidy, for surrounding scraps are easily attracted on magnet's surface and exert negative effect in products.
7. Strong neodymium magnets should be appropriately stored in ventilated dry room. Magnets gather rust easily if they are placed in acid, alkali, organic solvent, water, hot humid environment. In very severe cases, magnet would be demagnetized and their coating would come off. For un-plated products, they should be paid more attention. You can grease anti-rust coating before store them up. That is the main reason why coating for magnet is popular.
8. Anyone who is allergic to metal should stay away from magnets. Skin would turn red and in some case even coarsen. If those problems happen to you, please do not close to magnets.
9. When heated, the performance of magnet would be affected. Hence, please do not assemble or use magnets in high temperature.
