I am working on a project that requires a custom NdFeB permanent magnet. I was hoping that I could send you the specifications and obtain a quotation. Chrome Plating:
The magnetization should be axial, as you expected.
For the plating, I would like a playing with more impact resistance. I heard chrome plating is best for impact resistance on neodymium magnets . Is this correct? If so, can your factory do chrome plating? If so, what is the updated cost? Finally, our qty is 15k per year. Do you have the ability to spread that order out over the course of the year?

Our technicians reply that magnets are very brittle and should not be impacted. Otherwise, they will be broken. If magnets are hit in actual use, rubber coating will be a better choice. However, this is only a suggestion. Rubber coating may not be applicable for your magnets.
Also, we can spread out the order over course of the year. But could you please inform us how many magnets you need in each batch?

I would like to know the pricing and expected hold strength (magnet on magnet) for the following grades using the geometry I provided:
• N42
• N44
• N46
• N48
• N50
• N52
Basically, I am trying to find out if it is worth improving the grade of neodymium magnet I am requesting.

N44 and N46 are not very common, so we quote you N45 permanent magnets, which is similar to N44 and N46. Also, we can only know hold strength from actual test.
