There are 2 options. The first is similar to what we are using now but with a ridge at the top. The other is what would work best for our application. Quantities will be in the 10-20k range. Can you let me know pricing if you can do this and what problems you foresee if you can’t.
Magnets to hold 3.71lbs Permanent type
Chrome or Nickel plated.
Option 2 is the preferred solution if you can thread it.

We are professional in customizing various magnets.
Both of your two options are able to be produced. But, magnet's pulling force is subject to the actual measurement in testing after production, cannot be make sure in advance theoretically.
We quote and make magnets as the grade or magnetic parameters (Br, Hcb, Hcj and BHmax) provided by customers. What's the grade of your magnet? N35, N38....N52 or some other one?
Looking for N52 Neodymium Permanent Magnets:
Our test magnets were N52 0.25" diameter X 0.188". That is where the 3.72lbs came from. If we need to make them slightly longer or fatter we just need to know. I’m relying on your experience to get me close. We can add additional magnets if these are a little weaker than the test units.
These are being used in a suspension system for a light fixture and the hold isn’t mission critical as we have a backup tether holding the fixture as well.
