XE93-2000 Wind Turbine 20141108
China Motor Manufacturers Produce New Type Low-speed Wind Turbines
It is understood that in 2014 International Wind Power Conference in Beijing, as domestic wind power industry recovery with a fast pace, wind turbine manufacturers produce low-speed wind turbines in hope of seizing the large market of wind power.
Experts point out that with rich wind power, in the large wind power bases of Northeast, North China and Northwest resource tend to be saturated; so many wind farm developers shift their investment to low-speed wind energy areas with weaker resource conditions. According to some relative expectation, installed capacity will reach 30 million kilo watts in the future low-speed wind farms.

There is a general agreement that direct driven permanent magnet technology is more suitable for low-speed wind energy development in choice of wind turbines. Long Xin, vice president and senior engineer, says that without gearboxes like double fed generators and connecting devices, frictional damping will be reduced when fan blades rotate; therefore, direct driven permanent magnet motors are more suitable for low-speed wind areas. Besides, with better grid-connection, industry experts speak highly of direct driven permanent magnetic technology.
It is introduced that with excellent power efficiency, new type XE93-200 low-speed wind turbines adopt direct driven permanent magnetic technology, which are stably operated in Sichuan Dechang Wind Farm and Hunan Chengzhou Luhejin Wind Farm, winning high praise of proprietors.
So far, projects of these low-speed wind turbines are launched in many places in Hunan, Jiangxi, Shanxi, Shandong, and Sichuang, among which the market share has reached 80% in Hunan.
