We can manufacture magnetized or un-magnetized magnets according to customers’ request. Magnets in different shapes can be magnetized through different directions.
Below are the common magnetization directions.
Length of Magnetization Direction:
Please kindly note that currently the longest length of magnetization direction for neodymium permanent magnet material is 50-60mm, for alnico magnets, we can magnetize it through longer length like 100mm, 300mm. Some customers demand length of magnetization direction is over 50-60mm, we will suggest them to divide the magnets into several parts and then assemble them after manufacturing in order to meet the required length of magnetization direction. For example, a customer requires N35 70x3x70mm block magnets, magnetized through length 70mm, which exceeds 50-60mm, so our engineer suggest to divide the magnets into two parts 70x3x35mm, magnetized through 35mm and then join the two parts to achieve similar effect of magnetized direction of 70mm.
Ring Magnets:
Among ring magnets, most commonly seen magnetization directions are through axis or diameter shown as the picture below.
A few customers required sintered magnets with multi-poles through axis like 4-32poles.
Some customers demand ring magnets magnetized radially. Please kindly note that normally, only isotropic magnets can be magnetized radially, such as bonded NdFeB magnets, ferrite magnets Y10T and Y8T.
However, there are a number of customers need sintered neodymium ring magnets magnetized through radius or multi-pole through diameter. But sintered permanent magnets are anisotropic, which are unable to do such magnetization directions. Here we also have a way to get a similar effect—according to self-demand, customers can consider using several parts of arc magnets magnetized through diameter or through diameter symmetrically to assemble a full ring magnet, which also results in a similar effect of radial magnetic field.
