With the development of science and technology, neodymium magnets have been more widely used in medical treatment.
 
It is well-knowm that nuclear magnetic resonance imaging technology needs a large quantity of neodymium permanent magnets.This technology can diagnose abnormal tissue of our body and disease. It can clearly examine the brian, heart,main blood vessels, joints and bones,soft tissue, etc. But now, researchers discovered neodymium magnets not only can diagnose disease, but also can be helpful for treating disease.Based on the published reports in the internationl researcher journal "Journal of Inorganic Chemistry", University of Sydney researchers and Scottish researchers implanted tiny iron oxid in the anti-ancer drugs and then use neodymium magnets to guide chemotherapy to the position of cancer cells.
 
Dr.Witt in the Department of Pharmacy of University of Sydney said:"The reason why many chemotherapy-related side effects will occur because that the diffusion of the drug will across the whole body, it destroys the cancer cells also hurt healthy organs of human body at the same time." While the researchers laid the neodymium magnets on the plates containing cancer cells, they found the drug only kills the cancels cells surrounded with magnets and it doesn't hurt the other healthy parts. This technology will highly reduce the side-effects of chemotherapy-related,including hair loss,nausea, vomiting,low red blood cells and high infection cells,etc. Moreover, NdFeB permanent magnets are applied in the treatment of other various of diseases.Scientists have found magnetic therapy is helpful for relieving pain,swell and inflammation.Magnetic field can improve the activity of the pain-causing substances, hydrolysis or transformation of the pain-causing substances to achieve the purpose of pain relief. By strengthening the local blood circulation, improving the permeability of the tissue, the magnetic field can be conducive to the dissipation of exudates, absorption. Coupled with the magnetic field can also improve the body's non-specific immunity, white blood cells active, the ability to devour, which can achieve the effect of reducing the swelling and anti-inflammatory.
