The general design is presented below: The dodecahedra would weigh between 120 and 140 kilograms and should levitate around 2.5cm above ground (the dimensions of the dodecahedra are presented below). In order to do so, we've designed a NdFeb rare earth permanent magnet based magnetic set-up you can look at as follows: I think the best way to succeed is to use China strongest cylindrical neodymium magnet. One would be in the center of the pentagonal basis and would lift most of the weight (a relatively thin and large disk would do I guess). It could be reinforced with a few other permanent magnets around it but we have to be careful not to make it too heavy. To stabilize everything, we would use magnets disposed at a fixed angle to prevent the structure from leaving the center of the magnetic support. This support would be composed of three parts: a big China neodymium magnet in the center to support most of the weight, maybe a few cylindrical magnets in circle around it if we use the reinforcement magnets I talked about before, and a circle of cylindrical magnets at fixed angle to stabilize the structure.
