Permanent Magnets for Wireless Power Transmission Technology 20161109
Ferrite Magnets and NdFeB Neodymium Magnets Manufacturer China Rare Earth Magnet Limited
The research institution Gartner has studied that the first and second critical technology of global Top10 are separately Quick Charge and Wireless Charging. And besides the high rank, most people think that these technologies are indeed practical and useful.
For these technologies, magnetic materials play a great role, including ferrite magnets and NdFeB neodymium magnets, which account for the highest proportion among the total materials. On the one hand, the permanent magnet materials are used for strengthening the magnetic flux between launching and receiving coil to advance transmitting efficiency. And it is learned that small wireless charging devices always use NdFeB magnets; and heavy equipments use ferrite to save cost. For example, by using two rotating permanent magnet in non-contact dynamic magnetic coupling or MDC, UBC has achieved EV charging from 102mm~152mm.
On the other hand, as the terminal equipment need to be placed in a fixed place to recharge and to maximize the efficiency, neodymium rare earth magnets are used in fixed-position charger to location. And since the fixed-position charger has higher resonant frequency, it mainly use NiZn ferrite with the advantages of low loss and high-frequency magnetic shielding effect.
As introduced, Haier has successfully applied the Wireless Power Transmission technology to high-power appliances, such as kitchen appliance, i-Robot, laptop, phone and so on, with 1000W charging power and 50mm transmission range. Therefore, with this technology advanced increasingly, the permanent magnetic materials will be more popular and prosperous in the future market.
