China Develops the First Super Speed Maglev Permanent Magnet Motor
Recently, depending on Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing High-speed Maglev Motor Technology and Application Engineering Research Centre breaks through the fields of developing high-speed motor. It successfully develops the first 30KW super speed maglev permanent magnet motor.
This engineering center conquers a number of critical technologies of maglev high-speed motors, including the entire structural design, three-degree free permanent magnetic bias magnetic bearing design, and stable control of high-speed magnetic bearing system and develops low power high-speed maglev permanent magnetic motors with proprietary intellectual property rights, filling the blank field in our country.
Restricted by the limit motor speed, traditional compressors have to driven by gearbox, which leads to big size, high consumption, short life and severe noise pollution. Through direct driving, high-speed maglev permanent magnetic motors can simplify the structure of gearbox, decrease energy consumption, extend service life, and reduce noise pollution. So far, international technologies of these products are blocked in China. Developing high-speed maglev motors is an important way to improve China’s capacity for independent innovation of high-end equipment manufacturing field.
Currently, this technology has finished its pilot plant test production, laying a good groundwork of next industrialization.
