When we arrange production, we need to know the magnetization is across outer diameter or inner diameter.
If magnetize the magnets across outer diameter, the magnetic force focus on outer circumferential surface
Instead to magnetize across inner diameter, the magnetic force is concentrated in the inner circular surface.
The price is the same, but the use effect is different.

We don’t understand the difference between the “inside diameter” vs “outside diameter” magnetization. If the ring is radially magnetized, the magnetic moment should go from the center to the outside like your drawings show. Basically, the magnetization is axially symmetric. Could you please explain in more detail the difference?

Which side or surface of the magnets do you mainly want to use please?
The outer circular surface or the inner circular surface or the flat surface
To magnetize through outer diameter to inner diameter, the magnetic performance on outer circular surface is the highest.
To magnetize from inner diameter to outer, the magnetism on inner circular surface is the highest.

For magnetic fields strength, outside is better. However, I want to be sure that the outside of the ring has a nice sinusoidal transition between poles.

For your request of sine wave, our engineering said the outer diameter is large and the pole width is too big, sine wave is not likely to meet. Anyway, our engineering will try to make the bonded permanent magnets in this direction.
